Use

The names of the parameters have changed for all the Web items. Use the migration tool in the BEx Web Application Designer to automatically convert Web items in Web templates and libraries (from SAP BW 3.x) into the new notation.

The following Web items were changed with SAP NetWeaver 7.0:

Dropdown Box

In the new Dropdown Box Web item, the functionality of the Dropdown Box Web item in SAP NetWeaver ’04 or earlier SAP BW Releases has been combined with the functionality of the Query View – Selection Web item in SAP NetWeaver ’04 or earlier SAP BW Releases. As a result, you can select characteristic values to filter the data using the Dropdown Box Web item or navigate between different query views.  You can also define your own entries for the dropdown box in the Dropdown Box Web item. If you select one of these entries, a Web API command that you defined is executed.

The parameter ONLY_VALUES is no longer supported.

The parameters VIEW_DD_USE_BUTTONS and VIEW_DD_BUTTONS_IN_ROWS from the Query View – Selection Web item in SAP NetWeaver ’04 and earlier SAP BW Releases are no longer supported. You can no longer select the Query View – Selection using a pushbutton instead of a dropdown box. As an alternative, SAP now offers button groups to which you can link the relevant commands.  For more information, see the Button Group Web item in the Web Items (New) documentation.

Analysis

The Analysis Web item essentially corresponds to the Table Web item in SAP NetWeaver ’04 and earlier SAP BW Releases. One particular new feature is the Drag&Drop function within the Analysis Web item to change the navigational state of the query view. There is also a new option to display sort symbols for simple lists to change the way the data is sorted. To support planning, an input mode is available.

The system no longer supports the use of the table interface.

Navigation Pane

The Navigation Area Web item essentially corresponds to the Navigation Block Web item in SAP NetWeaver ’04 and earlier SAP BW Releases. One particular new feature is the Drag&Drop function, used to change the navigational state of the query view.
The system no longer supports the use of the table interface.

Info Field

The Info Field Web item groups together the functions of the Filter and Text Element Web items from SAP NetWeaver ’04 and earlier SAP BW Releases.

Radio Button Groups

The parameters HORIZONTAL_ALIGNMENT and HORIZONTAL_NUMBER were combined to form the parameter COLUMNS. As a result, you only have to specify the number of columns.

Checkbox Group

The Checkbox Group Web item essentially corresponds to the Checkboxes Web item in SAP NetWeaver ’04 and earlier SAP BW Releases.  The parameters HORIZONTAL_ALIGNMENT and HORIZONTAL_NUMBER were combined to form the parameter COLUMNS. As a result, you only have to specify the number of columns.

Chart

The Chart Web item supports the following new chart types:

      Gantt chart
      Sitemap
      Milestone trend analysis (MTA)

You can also execute chart mapping. This allows you to assign series Customizing for a specific characteristic combination. You can make a setting, for example, to determine that a particular customer is always displayed in a specific color, regardless of its position in the data.

In the Web application, you can now change important chart settings (for example, chart type, legend position, axis labeling, axis swapping) during runtime.

Hierarchical Filter Selection

The Hierarchical Filter Selection Web item allows you to filter on a hierarchy node. In contrast to SAP NetWeaver ‘04, the hierarchy is no longer rendered dynamically but displayed as a static tree structure that can be expanded and collapsed.

Maps

The Web item Maps supports the option for all the symbol-dependent map renderers to specify a user-defined picture or to display different symbols depending on the attribute values.

The map legend supports enhanced formatting options. You can decide for each map layer, for example, whether a legend is to be displayed, and set titles for the individual sublegends.

To increase the flexibility of the data connection you can now select a key figure column. In this way, the same data provider can be used for different map layers.

In the Web Application Designer you can find an Edit Map tool, with which you can easily define your map with the individual map levels.

Text

The Web item Text enhances the Web item Label from SAP NetWeaver ‘04 with an option to display a language-dependent text in the Web application.

Single Document/List of Documents

For more details on the new features for these two Web items, see Integration of Documents (Changed).
